A National Leader in Turbine Production
The state of South Carolina ranks fourth in the nation in exports of gas turbines, led by GE Vernova’s Upstate South Carolina Plant. GE’s Upstate campus has more than 3,600 employees, and the company plans to invest an additional $400 million dollars in the facility over the next 10 years.

The #2 Exporter for Passenger Automobiles
South Carolina is the #2 state for exports of passenger vehicles by value, with $10.2 billion in sales for 2023, accounting for more than 16% of the total U.S. market share. BMW’s Plant Spartanburg is the largest manufacturing facility in BMW’s global production network, assemblying more than 1,500 vehicles daily.
